Friends of the San Fernando General Hospital (FSFGH) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization, committed to promoting an enhanced quality of care at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH).
In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, the Organization was the beneficiary of the goodwill of many volunteers who provided material and support services to the SFGH for the benefit of its patients. However, in recent times, it has become evident that social support services are more needed at the facility, than material provisions. To meet these needs financially, through the generosity of our volunteers, the South-West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) and our patrons, the Friends' Corner shop, which is our main fund-raiser, was established.
Services of FSFGH:-
1 Provide play therapy for patients on paediatric wards (medical and surgical). We also assist the parents and relatives to cope emotionally with their children’s hospitalization and related experiences.
2 Render financial assistance to patients in need of medical tests and procedures which are not available at the hospital.
3 Assist the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) with improving the aesthetics at the SFGH.
