This year, Friends of the San Fernando General Hospital is once more hosting LIGHT UP A LIFE in Trinidad and Tobago, allowing members of our local community an opportunity to celebrate the lives of their friends and relatives during the holiday season.
The mission of our Organisation is to assist the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) in enhanced quality care at the Hospital, and to render financial assistance to needy patients, mainly via the medical social worker’s department of SFGH.
Our main fund raiser continues to be proceeds from our small not- for- profit shop, Friends' Corner, which opened in April 2008. This shop, conveniently located opposite the new Blood Bank, allows us to serve patients, staff and visitors fulfilling a simple but much needed service at the SFGH.
As we continue our mission, we invite you to be part of LIGHT UP A LIFE T&T 2014, to be held on Saturday December 13th at 5.00pm at Friends' Corner, by sponsoring lights in memory of loved ones departed, or as a gift honouring and thanking those currently in your life. These special lights, hung on the trees on the grounds of the SFGH, will be switched on during a short programme of seasonal entertainment, and will remain illuminated during the Christmas season.
You can also continue this celebration of life all year long, by wearing one of the beautifully designed LIGHT UP A LIFE pins which are available from any one of our volunteers and at Friends' Corner Shop. They make great meaningful holiday gifts!
